Tracking billed readings

When meter readings are used to calculate customers' bills, Infor Public Sector keeps track of which readings have been billed to ensure they are only billed once. Information on which readings have been billed is stored in tables in the Infor Public Sector database, depending on the type of meter:

• WATERTRACKEDREADING for water meters
• SEWERTRACKEDREADING for sewer meters
• STORMTRACKEDREADING for storm meters
• LINEITEMTRACKEDREAD table links billed readings to specific line items

When defining a bill type, use the Track Billed Readings list to indicate how Infor Public Sector will track readings for the bill type. You can select these options:

• By Service tracks readings based on the account and the service position. When a reading is billed, a record is added to the tracked reading table specifying the account key, the service position key, the reading key, and the bill key. The reading will not be used for further bills, regardless of the bill type.
• By Service and Bill Type tracks readings by bill type. The same reading can be used for more than one bill to the same account, such as using the same water meter reading for the customer's water bill and the sewer bill. In that case, the tracked reading table can include more than one bill for the same reading key and service position key, as long as they have different bill type keys.
