Creating a budget

  1. Select Work Management > Budgeting > Create Budget.
  2. Specify this information:
    Budget ID
    Specify a unique identification code for the budget.
    Description
    Type a description of the budget.
    Start Date
    Specify the date the budget starts.
    End Date
    Specify the date the budget ends.
    Organization
    Type the name that will represent the top level of the budget's organizational hierarchy, such as the name of your agency or the name of a department. You must define a hierarchy modeled on the different levels of your organization so you can view how funds are allocated and spent at each level. The name that you enter in the Organization field represents the root node of the hierarchy. After you've saved the budget, you can use the Budget InfoViewer to define the other levels in your organization.
  3. Click Save.
