Attaching an element to a linear asset

  1. Load the correct linear asset in the InfoViewer.
  2. In the feature list, right-click to the right of the icon for the correct element type and select Add new item of this type.
  3. Specify this information:
    Measured From
    Select the end of the linear asset from which the position of the element is measured.
    Start Distance
    Specify the distance of the start of the element from the end of the linear asset that you selected in the Measured From list.
    End Distance
    For range elements, specify the distance of the end of the element from the end of the linear asset.
    Start Offset
    Specify the distance of the element from the center of the linear asset. Use zero as the center of the linear asset, negative numbers to denote the distance from the center to the left, and positive numbers to denote the distance from the center to the right.
    Effective Date
    Specify the date the element was attached.
  4. Click Save.
