Creating a unit maintenance schedule

  1. Select Asset Management > Maintenance > Create Unit Maintenance Schedule.
  2. Specify the asset for which you're creating the schedule.
First select the correct asset type from the Asset list. One or more asset ID fields are displayed to the right, which you can use to specify the correct asset ID.
  3. Specify the activity to be performed on the asset in the Activity field.
  4. If you want to use a standard work order for the schedule, specify it in the Standard Work Order field.
  5. Specify the estimated amount of work to be performed in the Planned Qty field.
The planned quantity is the amount of work expected to be produced during the work order, such as the length of a water main that will be installed or the amount of oil required to change the oil in a vehicle. The planned quantity's unit of measure is based on the unit of measure for the activity's average daily production.
  6. Under Additional Information and Comments, specify any information you want to add to the schedule.
The information that you specify will be copied to all work orders created by the schedule.
Note: If you want to calculate the due date for work orders generated under this schedule, specify values in the Due Within fields. These fields indicate the amount of time after the scheduled date that the work order will be due to be completed. You can select the Workdays Only check box if you don't want to count weekends and holidays when calculating due dates.
  7. Under Schedule Information, select an option from the Reschedule By list.
If you select Completion Date, Infor Public Sector schedules work orders based on the completion date of the previously generated work order. If you select this option, you must wait until each work order is completed before you can schedule the next one. If you select Scheduled Date, Infor Public Sector schedules work orders based on the scheduled date of the previously generated work order, regardless of whether the work order is completed.
  8. Using the Schedule Type list and Interval field, specify the interval between work orders generated under this schedule.
The schedule type indicates whether Infor Public Sector will schedule the maintenance activity on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. For example, if you specify Monthly as the schedule type and 3 as the interval, Infor Public Sector will schedule this maintenance activity every three months until the Cycle To date. Infor Public Sector uses the last day of the month as the scheduled date for monthly schedules.
  9. In the Next Scheduled field, specify the date the schedule will generate its first work order.
The date you select will determine the scheduled dates of subsequent work orders. For example, let's say you set your schedule to generate work orders every two months between October 1 and April 30, that you selected Scheduled Date from the Reschedule By list, and that you specified December 15 as the Next Scheduled date. If you generate work orders for this schedule through a due date of April 30, Infor Public Sector will generate work orders with scheduled dates of December 15, February 15, and April 15. (This example assumes that you didn't select the End of Month check box and did select the Weekdays, Holidays, and Weekends check boxes.)
  10. If this is a seasonal maintenance schedule, specify the active dates in the Cycle From and Cycle To fields.
Infor Public Sector will only schedule work orders within the cycle date range. The year is ignored. Infor Public Sector will create work orders between the cycle dates every year, starting with the year specified in the Cycle From field. If you specify a date in the Cycle To field but leave the Cycle From field blank, Infor Public Sector uses today's date.
  11. Under Calculate Next Scheduled Based on Workday Options Below, select the check boxes to indicate the types of days on which Infor Public Sector can schedule work orders.

You must select either Weekdays or Weekends to create a schedule. This list describes the results of selecting each check box:

    • Weekdays: Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule work orders on weekdays.
    • Holidays: Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule work orders on holidays.
    • Weekends: Allows Infor Public Sector to schedule work orders on weekends.
    • End of Month: Requires Infor Public Sector to schedule work orders on the last valid day of the month if you choose Months as the schedule type. What Infor Public Sector considers to be the last day of the month depends on the other scheduling options that are selected. For example, if the last day of the month is a Saturday and the schedule allows weekday but not weekend scheduling, Infor Public Sector will schedule work orders for the last Friday of that month.
Note: If you’re not ready to activate the schedule, you can select Schedule is On-Hold. Infor Public Sector will not generate work orders for schedules that have been placed on hold.
  12. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector saves the schedule and shows an identification number and a message that the maintenance schedule was completed successfully. You can click the Scheduled Maintenance # link to view and edit the schedule in the Unit Maintenance Schedule InfoViewer.
