Failure analysis
A failure analysis is a study of the failure rates of certain assets in your
inventory. It can be used to anticipate future problems with those assets.
A failure is defined as any instance of an asset malfunctioning. To record failures, you must first define the types of failure that can occur. Failures can then be recorded in work orders.
To perform a failure analysis, you specify an asset group and a time period over which you want to conduct the analysis. Infor Public Sector then shows a graph plotting the number of asset failures within the group across that time period. You can view the average number of failures for all assets in the group or failures for selected assets.
