Creating a group inspection in the Network Browser

You can use the Asset Network Browser to create a group inspection for all mainlines displayed in the browser, or for all mainlines that are upstream or downstream from the selected asset. A group inspection is a collection of inspections of the same type that are performed on assets of the same type, such as performing condition inspections on all the sewer mains in a particular district after a heavy rainstorm.

  1. Open the Asset Network Browser.
  2. Click Action and select Create a Group Inspection for all Mainlines, Create a Group Inspection for Upstream Mainlines, or Create a Group Inspection for Downstream Mainlines.
Note: If your network has multiple types of mainlines, select the correct asset type for the group inspection and click OK. The Create Group Inspection form is displayed. The assets selected from the browser are listed in the Assets grid.
  3. If the correct asset type isn't displayed, select it from the Asset Type list.
  4. In the Inspection Type field, enter the identification code for the type of inspections you want to create.
  5. Enter any other information about the inspections in the Description field.
  6. Under Inspection Information, enter any other information for the activity, such as its scheduled start date and the assigned employee.
  7. To select any other assets that you want to create inspections:
    1. Click Add above the grid.
    2. Enter search criteria at the top of the dialog box to locate the assets that you want to create inspections for.
    3. Click Search.
Infor Public Sector shows a list of assets that match your search criteria.
    4. Select all the assets that you want to create inspections for.
Note that you can open an asset into the asset InfoViewer by clicking its Asset ID link.
    5. Click Select.
The dialog box closes and a list of all the selected assets is displayed.
Note: You can change the order of the assets by reordering the records in the Assets grid. The order number determines the sequence in which the inspections will be generated.
  8. Click Save.
Infor Public Sector shows the group inspection number and a message that the group inspection was created successfully. An inspection is generated for each asset you selected. You can click the Group Inspection # link to view and edit the group inspection in the Group Inspection InfoViewer.
