Asset Management overview
The first step is to create a complete inventory of the assets in your network. Infor Public Sector includes several different modules for different types of assets, such as Sewer, Street, and Water. Each module includes the appropriate asset types, such as mains, services lines, pumps, valves, and hydrants in the Water module.
An asset network consists of your agency's assets and the associations among those assets. When creating or updating asset records, you establish these associations by indicating how assets are related to each other, such as designating an equipment yard as the site of a forklift and the equipment yard as a usage area within a maintenance complex. You can then create work orders for an asset or group of assets, schedule inspections and preventive maintenance, and analyze asset failures.
Each asset management module provides a list of standard asset types, and you can also create your own asset types if necessary. Infor Public Sector also includes an Asset Browser that you can use to search all your assets and view the relationships among assets.
