Validating a decision model

You can validate a decision model to verify that there are no errors in it before using it to initiate a needs analysis run. When you validate your decision model, you are alerted to errors such as decision nodes missing formulas, result nodes missing activities, or decision nodes with no child decision or result nodes.

  1. Load the decision model into the Decision Model InfoViewer.
To open the Decision Model InfoViewer, click Lookup Decision Models on the Asset Analysis page. Then look up the decisions model that you want to work with and click the link in the Name column to open the InfoViewer.
  2. Optionally, click Action and select Validate Model Options to specify the errors that you want to check for.
By default Infor Public Sector will validate all decision and result nodes and all formulas in the decision model, and will test for any decision nodes that are missing result nodes. You can deselect the check boxes for any validation tests that you do not want to include. When you're finished setting validation options, click Save.
  3. Click Action and select Validate Decision Model.
Your decision model is checked for errors based on the validation options you selected. Any nodes that contain errors are displayed in the Search Results panel.
  4. To correct errors, click any node in the Search Results panel to highlight the node in the decision tree.
  5. Right-click the highlighted node and select Edit This Node.
The Decision Node or Result Node InfoViewer shows the errors in the Errors field.
  6. Correct the errors and click Save.
