Infor POS components

The available components are based on your subscription agreement with your Infor POS representative. For details about the setup and configuration, contact your Infor POS representative.

This list shows the basic components:

  • Features

Certain features described in this guide may be subject to availability based on the terms of your subscription agreement or service plan.

  • Buttons

For the purposes of this guide, it is assumed you have the default names for the buttons and their locations in the user interface set up.

  • Button macros

Depending on your Infor POS configuration, you can run button macros for Infor POS functions. When selecting a button with a button macro enabled, a sequence of button presses is run in Infor POS.

  • Job codes, access levels, and authorizations

POS can be configured to manage user permissions by assigning specific job codes and access levels to POS functions. For example, restricting certain employees from performing actions such as canceling a check. Additionally, POS can be configured to require authorization by swiping an access card at the terminal for managerial-level functions such as void approvals, discount applications, and transaction overrides.

  • Hardware

Because the available hardware for your Infor POS terminal are based on your subscription agreement, the steps about using some hardware in this guide may not apply.

  • Revenue centers

A revenue center is either a primary terminal or a combination of primary and client Infor POS terminals in a store. Client terminals send data gathered from using Infor POS to a master terminal. The primary terminal then consolidates the data and uploads it to an Infor POSdatabase.
