Adding a modifier

Modifiers are options used to modify how a menu item is prepared. For example, a choice of dressing is a modifier of a salad menu item.

A menu item can have these types of modifiers:

  • Forced: Required to proceed with the transaction and marked by an asterisk. If the forced modifier is not yet selected, then the check view panel displays the modifier in red font.
  • Optional: Preferences that are not required to proceed with the transaction such as no onion, or sauce on the side.
  • Custom: Notes that you can type if the modifier is not available or not configured.
  1. In the main panel, tap a menu item.

When you tap a menu item with a forced modifier, the modifier dialog box is displayed automatically.

  2. Optionally, if the menu item has no forced modifier, then tap Modify or if enabled, tap More Options > Modify.
  3. In the modifier dialog box, tap a tab and tap a modifier option. If applicable, specify the quantity of the modifier.
You can repeat this step and tap any tab in no particular order. The modifiers are added to the check as you tap them.
  4. To add a custom modifier, tap the Comment tab and provide a comment by using the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Tap Done.
