Adding a button to a touchscreen menu

After creating a touchscreen menu, you must create buttons to populate the touchscreen menu. The number of buttons you can fit in a touchscreen menu depends on the layout you specified. For example, in a 6 x 3 layout, you can fit nine buttons in the touchscreen menu.

  1. Select Editors > Touchscreen > Manage Screens / Buttons.
  2. In the row of the touchscreen menu, click Buttons.
  3. Specify this information:
    Button Type
Specify a button type. Selecting the Menu Item option enables the Prompt list while selecting the Quick Tender option enables the Quick Tender Amount field.
    Link To
Specify an item that is linked to the button. The Button Text field is automatically filled out with the same value specified in the Link To field.
    Quick Tender Amount
Specify the displayed text for the Quick Tender button type. Quick tenders are payment tender options that automatically specify the amount required to close a payment transaction in an on-screen numeric keypad.
Note: The Button Text field is automatically filled out with the same value specified in the Quick Tender Amount field. This is in combination with the value specified in the Link To field.
    Button Text
Specify the displayed text for the button type.
    Color
    Select a color.
    Order
Specify a number for the placement order of the button in the touchscreen menu. Buttons are arranged from left to right, where the first button is displayed in the upper left corner. For example, if 0 is specified, the button is displayed in the upper left corner of the touchscreen menu. Macro buttons also determine when the button is tapped in a sequence when the Macro button type is selected.
    Prompt
Select an option to prompt you to specify the required information. Selecting a prompt option related to weight enables the Tare Weight and Move Decimal fields.
    Tare Weight
Specify the weight of the menu item.
    Move Decimal
Specify the number of decimal places required for the menu item. For example, specify 2 to provide two decimal places.
    Scheduled
Select this check box to schedule the display of the button. Selecting this check box enables the Start Date and End Date fields.
    Start Date
Use the calendar to specify the start date of the menu item.
    Start Time
Specify the start time of the menu item in the format HH:MM.
    End Date
Use the calendar to specify the end date of the menu item.
    End Time
Specify the end time of the menu item in the format HH:MM.
