Adding conversational modifiers to a menu item

Conversational modifiers are used to customize orders as customers speak. Cashiers can add or change required and optional items, such as removing onions, adding pickles, or modifying items inside a combo, without switching screens or breaking the flow.

  1. Select Configuration > Menu Items > Quick Add Menu Items.
  2. In the row of the menu item, click the Details list.
  3. Click Conversational Modifiers.
  4. Specify this information:
    Food Modifier
    Select a modifier option to show a corresponding button that users can select to add the modifier to the order.
    Comment
    Specify an option to show a button that enables users to specify instructions related to the selected modifier option.
  5. Optionally, to add a conversational modifier to a specific revenue center, click Store Settings and specify the required information.
  6. Click Save Changes.
