Setting up memo types
You can change the order of memo types within a memo group
by clicking the up and down buttons in the Memo Type grid.
- On the sidebar, select Memos > Maintain Memo Groups and Types.
- Specify the application for which memo groups and memo types are to be defined in the Application field. Optionally, you can click the search icon to select an existing application. Wildcard search is also available.
- Click Search.
- In the Results panel, select a record.
- In the Memo Groups grid, select a group code and click Detail.
- In the Memo Type grid, click Add.

Specify this information:
- Memo Type
- Specify the code which identifies each memo type.
- Description
- Provide a description of the memo type code.
- Active
- Select this check box to make the memo type available for selection and can be linked to individual memos.
- Effective for
- Specify the default effective period.
- Terminate after
- Specify the default termination period.
- Data Type
- Specify the default data type for the memo type. Optionally, you can click the search icon to select an existing data type. If specified, then the default can be overridden when creating individual memos if required.
- Urgent
- Select this check box to set the memo type as urgent.
- User Security
- To set up user security, click User Security. To display this button, ensure that the user security is enabled.
- Links
- To link a record with an urgent memo to an application, click Links.

- Cross App.
- Select this check box to set the memo type as cross application.
- Display on Linking from
- Specify whether an urgent memo is displayed when the record is selected from an application listed in this form. This field is only available when the Urgent check box is selected.
- Click Save.
