HTML email processing

The Emailing application supports sending template-based messages in HTML format that incorporate Pathway data. To send HTML messages, you must use the Microsoft .NET Framework runtime for Pathway to communicate with an SMTP-enabled mail server. This process might require some extra configuration, especially for sites not already running the Pathway smart client.

You can only associate Pathway emailing message templates with word processing merge types. The templates are used to generate messages to accompany documents sent electronically in PDF format from a background job queue. Within thick client sessions such as a job queue processor, only messages through SMTP are sent in Pathway if they are in HTML format. If no emailing message templates contain an HTML Body text value, then the PDF background job queue always send messages in the pre-existing manner; that is, by way of an email client such as Microsoft Outlook.
