Converting e-mail address
The search profile and processing options in the E-mail
Address Conversion Control form are included in the conversion. A summary message is
sent to the user after the conversion process.
- On the sidebar, select System Administration > System Parameters > E-mail Address Conversion.
- Specify this information:
- Users With Existing SMTP Addresses
- Select this check box to include users with addresses that are already in the name@domain format. This field is useful if an organisation is making basic changes to its address format or changing domain names.
- Users Missing Addresses
- Select this check box to include users without email address at all and populate the users' address field.
- Name Separator
- Specify the character to be used to separate a user’s first and last names to form the name part of an Internet address. For example, John_Smith@council.gov.au is the result of using an underscore as a separator for the user name John Smith. You can leave this field blank, in which case there is no separator character between the first and last names.
- Number of First Name Characters
- Specify the number of characters from the start of the first name to be included in the name part of the email address. For example, J.Smith@council.gov.au is the result of setting this field to 1. If left blank, then all the first name characters are included in the name part.
- Domain
- Specify the site’s email address domain. For example, council.gov.au.
- Description
- Provide the detailed description of the record. You can also specify when to run the job.
- Click Submit.
