Other
This section describes the concepts and procedures on using the other components of Pathway UX.
This table shows the other components of Pathway UX:
Component | Description |
---|---|
Menus | Pathway UX requires that menus are built under top-tier Menu nodes (folders). |
Menu security |
In the Thick and Smart Client versions of Pathway the menu is always the first level of security. If a program is not on the menu, then it cannot be accessed. This feature is still true for the UX version of Pathway. See Menu security. |
Browsers |
These browsers are supported for Pathway UX:
Browser version must be current or earlier.
Note: Pathway UX does not support Internet Explorer.
|
UX client title page | The title in the tab is picked up from the same location as the Smart Client. See Setting up the tab title. |
On-line help | On-line Help is not available for Pathway UX. |
Module parameters | If a parameter is changed in Pathway thick or smart client, the Pathway UX
Cache must be cleared. If a parameter is changed in Pathway UX, additional actions are not required in most cases and the changed setting takes place immediately. See Changing module parameters. |
Printers | Only the client and email printers are provided for Pathway UX. See Printers. |
Reports | Printing output from Batch Jobs is directed to a browser page and is available on all devices. See Reports. |
Batch queues | There is no change to Batch Queue functionality. |
Field properties | The user can use the Field Properties option to get information regarding the field that is currently selected. See Viewing field properties. |
Tracing and log files | You may be asked to take a trace of a process for Support. See Tracing a process. |
Support form | This form provides information about your Pathway UX installation and other administrator functions. See Support form. |
User settings | The System Administrator can restrict User Settings. See Enabling or restricting user settings. |
Pathway Agent | The agent runs on the local computer or on the server if using virtualization like Citrix. See Pathway Agent. |
Group policy settings | See Group policy settings. |
Pathway Agent certificate authority (CA) | See Pathway Agent certificate authority (CA). |
UX COM API | Some methods are now obsolete. Updated documentation is available on request. |
Word processing | The installation or configuration of Word Processing has not changed. See Word processing. |
EDMS | Pathway UX and EDMS Integration is only supported by GENCON. See EDMS. |
