Chrome 77.x

For Chrome 77.x, the Always Open check box has been removed and causes issues for customers whereby the Open Pathway Agent? dialog keeps displaying again.

This can also cause a problem where an Open Word? dialog is displayed constantly each time a user needs to access Word through the browser.

The user must implement a group policy:

Download the latest Chrome enterprise bundle:
https://cloud.google.com/chrome%E2%80%90enterprise/browser/download
Export the Configuration\ADMX files.
Import these files into your central store.

The group policy object setting is:

Policies\Administrative Templates\Google\Google Chrome\Show an Always open check box in external protocol dialog.

The registry setting is:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome] "ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox"=dword:00000001

Edge

The process for Edge is the same.

The Group Policy Object setting is:

Policies\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Edge\ Show an Always open check box in external protocol dialog.
