Creating a data service from a Data Lake API

  1. On the Data Services page, click New.
  2. In the Create from Wizard dialog box, select Data Lake.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the Create Data Service - Find API dialog box, perform these steps:
    1. In the Search field, specify a word related to the API or leave the field blank.
    2. From the search results, find the API and click Select.
      To view the API details, click the plus (+) icon of the API.
  5. In the Create Data Service - Data Lake > Name and description section, specify the data service name and description, and assign tags.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Create Data Service - Data Lake > Query parameters section, perform these steps:
    1. In the Available Parameters section, click the plus (+) icon of a parameter or click Select all.
    2. In the Selected Parameters section, review the list and perform any of these actions:
      • Specify and search for a parameter name or alias.
      • Change the alias a selected parameter.
      • Click the minus (+) icon of a parameter or click Remove all.
    3. Click Test Data Service.
      Note: The actual data service runs in the target system.
    4. Optionally, to view the query in the advanced editor, click Advanced mode.
      Note: Once you click this button, you cannot go back to the standard mode.
    5. Expand the Record limit settings section.
    6. In the Record limit field, select one of these options:
      • Default (100): Set to a default limit of 100 rows.
      • Custom: Set to a specific row limit.
  8. If you click Advanced mode, perform these steps:
    1. In the Advanced Mode dialog box, click Yes.
    2. In the Available Parameters - Advanced Mode section, update the JSON and add custom parameters.
    3. Click Test Data Service.
    4. Optionally, click View/Edit JSON.
    5. In the JSON Preview dialog box, update the schema or the output.
    6. Click Save.
  9. Click Next.
  10. In the Create Data Service - Data Lake > Summary section, view the output parameters and the query.
  11. Click Finish.
On the Data Services page, the new data service is automatically added to the list.
