Creating a Records widget

  1. On the Pages > Drafts page, click New.
  2. On the Select Template page, select Records Widget.
  3. In the Configure Page > Template Settings section, select the elements to add to the widget.
    1. In the Widget section, specify the title and the subtitle.
    2. In the Data Grid section, specify this information.
      Show header
      Switch on this option to show the data grid header.
      Enable filter bar
      Switch on this option to show the Search icon and field.
      Note: This field is only available if you select the Show Header option.
      Enable row count
      Switch on this option to show the row count.
      Is list style
      Switch on this option to show the information in list view.
      Enable paging
      Switch on this option to show the page controls.
      Columns
      Select the number of data grid columns.
    3. In the Textbox sections, specify this information.
      Show component
      Switch on this option to show the text box component.
      Read only
      Switch on this option to set the text box component as read only.
      Show label
      Switch on this option to show the text box component label.
    4. In the Button section, specify this information.
      Show component
      Switch on this option to show the button component.
      Style
      Select the style of the button.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Specify the page properties and assign data services.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the New Page page, perform these steps:
    1. In the Elements section, select an element.
    2. In the Data Properties section, select the bound property.

      Optionally, change the bound property value.

      Note: For the text box components, use the selected item's data properties. These data properties are listed separately under the regular data properties and shows the value based off the selected value in the grid.
    3. In the Attributes section, change the settings of the selected element.
    4. In the Strings section, specify a static text or select a global string value for the selected element.
    5. In the Context Message section, set up the context message for the receiving component, sending component, or both.
    6. For the button component, to configure the button action settings, in the Options section, click Configure Element.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Optionally, in the Page Saved dialog box, select the Deploy this version to Portal catalog check box.
  10. Click Publish or Later.

If you publish the widget, the widget is automatically added to the list of projects on the Published page. If you select the deploy option, the widget is directly deployed to the Widget Catalog.
