Miscellaneous receipt
Materials staff often need to deliver items that have not been purchased through the normal requisition and PO process. Such items include personal items, loaner or free good from vendors, and so on. Regardless of the purchasing methods, the PO and miscellaneous goods alike need to be managed and efficiently delivered.
By contrast, PO Receiving is performed using the handheld unit. For more information, see Receiving PO items using the handheld.
Infor Receiving and Delivery provides a way to formally receive these miscellaneous items and record them when they first arrive, where they should be delivered, and who sent them. Such information is useful for a variety of reasons:
-
It provides proof of delivery should an employee mistakenly claim that the goods were never received.
-
It provides management with empirical data on the volume of miscellaneous goods arriving at the company.
-
It allows materials staff to include these time-consuming miscellaneous items in productivity reporting.
