The Excel workbook
To use the Mobile Solutions Data Batch Upload, you start with an Excel workbook. After the data upload tool is installed, the MSCM Data Upload section in the toolbar is displayed whenever an Excel workbook is opened.
To begin the upload process, you need a blank Excel worksheet. You create the worksheets through the Create Worksheet button in Data tab. Columns for the records are automatically created and displayed in their respective background colors when the Create Worksheet button is clicked. Some of the column fields are displayed as drop down field types. The drop down values contain the valid values that can be selected for certain fields.
Each application contains different sets of records that can be uploaded. Platform can contain Master Item Record and Facility.
Point of Use Nursing can contain User Facility Map, Patient Location, Revenue Center, Revenue Center Item, Workstation, Workstation – Patient Location, and Workstation – Supply Location.
Point of Use Department Inventory can contain Special Item Record, Department, Department Location, Department Item, Department Location Item, Practitioner, Facility Practitioner Mapping, Procedure, Procedure Modifier, Procedure Template, and Procedure Template Item.
The order of record values displayed is the recommended order of data upload. In Point of Use Nursing, a Revenue Center should be added first, before adding or associating a Revenue Center Item for the created Revenue Center. This also applies to Workstation. A Workstation should be created first before adding or associating a Workstation – Patient Location then a Workstation – Supply Location. However, before associating a Workstation – Patient Location, a Patient Location should be uploaded.
The same rule applies for Point of Use Department Inventory. Any changes in the Special Item Records should be done first before moving on to uploading Department, followed by Department Location, Department Item, Department Location Item. Practitioner must be added first prior to Facility Practitioner Mapping association, Procedure, Procedure Modifier, Procedure Template, and Procedure Template Item.
