Creating a new MSCM Label Format
- Open the MS Word application
- Select the Infor MSCM Label Editor tab from the menu toolbar.
- Click Connect.

Specify the MSCM URL.
Note: The Custom Label Service URL can be retrieved from MSCM Administration > System Management > Properties.

Specify the username and password and click Connect.
Note: The User with the Label Management - Customize Label role is enabled to access the add-in.

Click Create.
Note: After confirming the closing of any unsaved documents, the default label format size and DPI values will automatically populate the corresponding fields, and the edit area will adjust according to the default label size.
- Specify the desired label type. This will retrieve and display related DB fields that can be selected for the label.
- Specify the label size and DPI if desired values are different than the default.
- Click Barcode to display the Barcode panel and select barcode type. Available barcodes are linear (1D), data matrix (2D) and QR (2D) code.

Select the barcode content. For the content, you can select a field from the
related database tables or from the pre-defined MSCM handheld barcode
content.
Note: : The MSCM HH barcode content consists of a prefix and data. For example, location ID, item ID, employee ID, etc. The content will also depend on the label type which is used in MSCM transactions in the handheld device.
- Click Add Barcode.
- Click Label Fields to display the Label Field panel. The list of fields based on the selected label type is displayed.
- Click the expand button (+) to show all the fields.

Select the desired field then drag and drop in the label edit area to display
the field. You can move the selected fields within the label area by dragging a
field or using the arrow keys.
Note:
- To set the length of the field values, specify a value in the Max Length to Display field, select then drag and drop the desired field. Alternatively, adding comma then numeric value after the field upon display within the label area can be done to set length for the field value.
- Fields selected from the list for the label format will appear in the same location after the drag and drop action. Select and drag the field to separate them and be placed in a different location within the label.
- To adjust the size of the label font, highlight the field and use the font size options of the MS Word application.
- To add text labels for the fields, select Add text in label field. Specify the value for the field and click Add text to preview the label.

Optionally, click any of these options to add elements in the label
format:
- Click Box and Lines to add the borders and lines.
- Click Image to search, select and display bitmap files in the label format.

In Preview and Upload, click Generate
ZPL to create a ZPL code for the label format.
Note: If you are creating a label format for the first time, clicking Next or Preview and Upload will automatically generate a ZPL code. If further changes are made in the template after the initial format, click Generate ZPL to update the ZPL code accordingly.
- Click Preview to generate a preview of the label format.
- Specify the filename for the label format.

Click Upload. When confirmed, the
label format is saved in the MSCM database and is available in the selection of
label formats in Label Management > Print Labels.
The label format can still be updated prior to uploading. Ensure that you click Generate ZPL to update the ZPL code accordingly. Then click Upload to save and upload the latest label format.
