Creating label formats using the label customization tool
- Open MS Word application.
- Select MSCM Label Customization tab from the menu toolbar.
- Click on Connection Properties.

Specify the Server URL.
Note: The Custom Label Service URL can be retrieved from MSCM Administration > System Management > Properties tab.
- Specify the username and password and click Connect.
- In the Page Setup menu, select the label size and the DPI value.
- Click Next or Label Editor.
- In Label Editor, select the label type to identify the label format and retrieve the list of fields that can be selected.

Select the desired field, then drag and drop the field to the label edit area
to display the field. You can move the selected fields within the label area by
mouse drag or arrow keys.
Length display of field values can be managed by using specifying a value in the Max Length of Display, then selecting the field and placing it in the label edit area.
Text labels for fields can also be added in the label format by utilizing the Add text in label field. Enter value in the said field and click Add text to see the value in the label edit area.
- Select the barcode to display. Available barcodes are linear (1D), data matrix (2D) and QR (2D) code.
- Select barcode content.
- Click Next or Preview and Upload. This will create a ZPL code for the label format created.
- In Preview and Upload, click Preview to generate a preview of the label format.
- Specify filename for the label format.

Click Upload. When confirmed, label
format will be available in the selection of label formats under Label Management > Print Labels for the chosen label type.
Note: Label format can still be updated prior to uploading, ensure to click Generate ZPL to update the ZPL code accordingly, then click Upload to save and upload the latest label format.
