Using the auto-update feature for the handheld

The auto-update feature provides you with an efficient method to update applications on the handheld.

Note: An auto-notification displays when an update is available for download if version installed in the handheld is older than the current version installed in the MSCM server. User may have the option to install the update, to be reminded after 1-3 days, or not to install the update. User will be reminded again after the selected number of day/s if the reminder is selected. If Don't Update is selected, the current version installed in the HH will be retained.

Update applications on the handheld through the auto-update feature

  1. On the auto-update screen on the handheld, click Start.

    These messages are displayed during the installation process:

    Downloading FileName (XX.XX KB)...
    Download complete. Exiting application to install the update...
    Mobile SCM was updated successfully.
  2. Log in to MSCM to test the updated applications.
    Note: The auto-update option is only available if the user is set up to a usergroup with Handheld Functions.
