Route

Most organizations perform the deliveries in a set of routes. For example, floors 2, 3, and 4 or all deliveries to building A.

Infor Receiving and Delivery lets you predefine the routes. When you define the routes, you identify all possible delivery points on the route and the sequence in which the deliveries would normally be performed. After you define the routes, the application can help users manage and organize the delivery process.

A route is a list of locations that let you organize the delivery process. You can easily select multiple start locations across more than one route, without the need to toggle between routes.

Each company needs to have at least one route, and each route has a route name plus a list of receiving, delivery, and transfer locations.

For each delivery location on a route, you define the sequence (sometimes called a route stop) that the location represents in the route. That is, you define the order of the locations on the route.

The route that a delivery location is on can be modified through the browser application.

Receiving locations

Routes list delivery locations and transfer locations. Receiving locations are those locations where staff may dock log and receive goods that need to be delivered.

Transfer locations

Each route can have one transfer location, one or more receiving locations, and one or more delivery locations. It is possible for the same transfer location to be assigned to more than one route within the same Company. A transfer location can be assigned to a route. The transfer location must belong to the same company as the route.

Default routes

One of the routes in each company is designated the default route. When a company is created, a route is automatically created that has the same name as the company. It is initially designated the default route. When a delivery location is created, either in FSM or Infor Lawson or in SCM Setup, the delivery location is automatically added to the default route.

Site routes

Site routes let you sort locations for deliveries across multiple routes. You create a site route by selecting existing routes and assigning them a sequence. Newly created routes will automatically be added to the end of the site route.
