Defining custom labels for a company

Note:

The procedure for defining custom labels for a location is the same as defining custom labels for a company, with the exception that one format section will be necessary for each location in need of customization.

  1. Define all the printers in your company using the Printer Management user interface.
  2. For each printer, select the appropriate printer language in the printer management setup UI.

The available options are ZPL2 and IPL.

  3. For each label that you will be printing, define an additional format section in the configuration file. To do this, copy the format section and, instead of specifying the same language attribute of the format tag, specify the name of your company.
    Note:

For example, suppose Company 4321 wants custom labels. First define all the printer needs for 4321and specify a language of "4321". Any printers that are shared across companies need to have another printer defined that might represent the same physical printer although to the "system" it is a different printer. Now open the configuration file for the labels. Copy each format section and paste it just below the original for each label you use. Change the language to "4321". Make modifications to the format section with language corresponding to 4321. Now, any label printing which is routed to the printers for FACA will use the format definitions that use the 4321 language.
