Infor Receiving and Delivery

Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the volume of materials and supplies that must be processed by an organization's materials team. With urgent requests for supplies being almost commonplace, more and more items are shipped through express couriers like Fedex and UPS. The materials staff handles purchase order receipts, such as inventory and non-stock purchases, as well as receipts of other items that may not have been requisitioned through the purchasing department and lack the control of a purchase order.

Infor Receiving and Delivery (RAD), a part of the Infor Mobile Supply Chain Management application, uses mobile technologies to help materials organizations receive, transport, deliver and track goods across the breadth of an organization.

These goods include items ordered from vendors using a purchase order created in Infor Financials & Supply Management (FSM) or Infor Lawson, and parcels that are sent to the organization that are not ordered through FSM or Infor Lawson, such as documents or gifts. Most of the goods that are received must eventually get delivered to the appropriate destination location within your organization.

RAD has six key components:

  • Dock Logging

You use the Dock Logging component to validate that the carrier tracking numbers on the packages that are delivered by a carrier match the tracking number on the carrier’s manifest.

  • Miscellaneous Receiving

You use the Miscellaneous Receiving component to log shipments when they are received at a company. This component records a receipt for which there is no FSM or Infor Lawson purchase order.

  • PO Receiving

You use the PO Receiving component to log receipts when they are received at a company. This component records a receipt for which there is a FSM or Infor Lawson purchase order.

  • Delivery Management

You use the Delivery component to record delivery information and track shipments from the time they enter the receiving area to the time they are delivered to their final destination. Deliveries can be done via the web and by using the handheld.

  • Stock Issues and Returns

You use the Issues component to send inventory to another non-stocking location, department, or person. The requesting location incurs an expense for the issued items.

You use the Returns component to credit a location for returned items.

  • Tracking

You use the Tracking component to locate items to be delivered. You can also let your entire organization track the status of goods. This eliminates unnecessary phone calls and provides the organization full visibility into the delivery process.

  • Picking

You use the Picking component to download shipments generated in FSM or Infor Lawson to a mobile application and to perform requisition-based picking using a handheld device. This component updates the shipment status on the MSCM server and on FSM or Infor Lawson after the picking activity, and generates the appropriate delivery labels and documents.
