Recording charge information from the touchscreen

  1. From the main menu, choose Pull.

    The Select Patient screen is displayed.

    Note: If the items will not be charged to a patient, tap Floor Charge button on the Select Patient screen. Point of Use - Touchscreen - Non Chargeable role must be assigned to the user.

    You can also use Search Patient to further filter the list of patients to display.

  2. Select a revenue center by scanning the revenue center barcode. You can tap Rev Ctr to find other revenue centers that you have access to. For more information, see Finding a revenue center from the touchscreen.
    Note: If workstation has a default revenue center, the Revenue Ctr button displays the selected default in global or Per Workstation Settings.

    Visit Number is no longer unique to the patient; two or more patients can have the same visit number.

    This button cannot be accessed if you choose to search by Admit Date

    Note: Tap Back to return to the previous screen.

    Select Patient screen is populated with available patients assigned with visit numbers. You can also scan a visit number barcode.

  3. Specify this information:
    Note: Two or more patients can have the same visit number.
    By Name
    Click on this button to display patient records arranged in alphanumeric order (by patient's last name). This is the default sort setting.
    By Visit Nbr
    Click this button to display records in ascending alphanumeric order by visit number.
    By Room
    Click this button to display patient records in ascending alphanumeric order by room number.
    By Admit Date
    Select this button to display patient records in order of admission date.
    0-9, ABC, DEF, GHI, JKL, MNO, PQRS, TUV, WXYZ
    Select these buttons to jump to a patient record beginning with the name of the selected button.
    Note: This button cannot be accessed if you choose to search by Admit Date.

    If there are many patients to browse through, you can use Search Patient. For more information, see Finding a patient from the touchscreen.

  4. Selecting a Patient will take you to the PULL: Enter Item screen.

    Tap Search Item.

  5. Specify this information:
    By Item ID

    Click this button to display patient records arranged in alphanumeric order by Item ID. This is the default sort setting.

    By Description

    Click this button to display item records in ascending alphanumeric order by description.

    0-9, ABC, DEF, GHI, JKL, MNO, PQRS, TUV, WXYZ

    Select these buttons to jump to a patient record beginning with the name of the selected button

    You can also scan item barcodes. For more information, see Scanning items into the touchscreen.

    Note: If configured by your administrator, a default revenue center is pre-selected.
  6. Specify the quantity of items by scanning the barcode more than once, depending on the number of items to pull. You can also tap the plus or minus icons to increase or decrease the count.
    Note: You can also key in the item quantity to be returned using the numeric keypad by clicking the keypad button beside the quantity of every item in the list.
  7. Verify the information specified and tap Submit.

    The POU Touchscreen Main Menu screen and a confirmation message is displayed.
