Barcode format definitions

This table lists the prefixed fields and the detail for the location barcode format. Unless otherwise specified, the barcode is Code128A.

Barcode Field(s) Type Format Description
Location Label LL:CCCC:LLLLL

Where LL: is the 2-character indicator, CCCC is the company id and LLLLL is the location code. Company ID is up to 4 numeric digits. Location code is up to 5 characters.

":" is used to delimit the company ID and location code.

Sub Location or Bin Location Label BL:bbbbbbb

Where BL: is the 2-character prefix and bbbbbbb is the bin or sub location. The code is up to 8 characters long

These are used in par locations and inventory locations.

Stock Item Label IL:aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Where IL: is the 2-character prefix and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is the (up to) 16-character item number.

Note: Item codes can be larger than this. However, it is believed that healthcare customers will not exceed 16 characters.

Item barcodes with or without Lawson prefix and generated in QR code format are also supported specific for RAD.

Par Item Label PI:aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Where PI: is the 2-character prefix and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is the (up to) 16-character item number.

Note: Item codes can be larger than this. However, it is believed that healthcare customers will not exceed 16 characters.

Item barcodes with or without Lawson prefix and generated in QR code format are also supported specific for RAD.

Used in receiving as a substitute for carrier’s tracking number barcode.

LT denotes the tracking number, YY is the 2-digit year, DD day, MM month, and 12345 is a number starting at 00001 every day at midnight
