Installing MSCM on the Honeywell Dolphin handheld device running on Windows Mobile 6.5

You must first establish a network access before you install Mobile Supply Chain Management. When deploying in a wireless environment, ensure that the handheld devices have been configured to communicate using the wireless network. If you have a non-wireless handheld device and do not have an Ethernet cradle, you must establish an ActiveSync connection between the handheld and desktop before installing the MSCM handheld software

  1. Click Start.
  2. Select Internet Explorer from the drop down menu.
  3. Specify the IP address for the application server and the path to the handheld files.

For example: http://infor17:8080/hh/. After you have successfully connected to the server, you will see a browser window with Index of /hh./

  4. Scroll down to PlatformDLL_DolphinWM5.CAB and tap the file. The Download dialog box is displayed.
  5. Tap Save As. The Download To screen displays.
Note: Tapping Yes instead of Save As downloads the .CAB file to My Documents.
  6. Select IPSM from the Location list.
  7. Select AutoInstall from the Folder list.
Note: Saving the CAB file on the \IPSM\AutoInstall folder keeps it from being erased when a hard reset or cold boot is performed on the handheld device. Saving the CAB on the\IPSM\AutoInstall folder automatically re-installs MSCM on the handheld device after a hard reset.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. After the installation of the CAB file is complete, select HHShell.CAB and then repeat steps 5 to 8.
  10. Select product to install, this may include any of these: MPC.CAB, RAD.CAB, POU.CAB, SIM.CAB.

    Repeat steps 5 to 8

  11. Close the browser window.
  12. Return to the handheld main screen and select Start > Programs from the list.
  13. The Programs screen displays. Tap Mobile SCM.
Note: The Mobile SCM shortcut displays on the Start Menu.
  14. Before you can log into the handheld, you will need to point the handheld application to the application server. Select File from the bottom left of the handheld screen.
  15. Select Settings and specify the MSCM server address and Infor server address. Note that the Storage Path field will contain \infor
Note: The server address format consists of the server IP and port only. There should be no http:// string or directory name. For example: infor17:8080

Tap Test to test the connection to the application server.

  16. Tap OK to return to the login screen.
