Modifying par level

Use this procedure to modify the par level of items using the handheld terminal application.

Before you modify par level using the handheld application, you or your administrator must configure Par Level Editing and Label Printing in the application. See Configuring par counting for more information.

  1. From the main menu, tap Par Count. The Download Par Forms screen is displayed.
  2. Select the company ID from the list and tap All Par forms to view the par locations available for your company.
    Note: Tap My Par Forms to view the par forms set up for you by your administrator.
  3. Select the check boxes next to the par locations which contain the item(s) whose par level is to be modified and tap Download.

    The Ready to Count screen is displayed.

    Note: You can also scan location labels to select the par locations which contain the item(s) whose par level is to be modified.
  4. Select the par location row in the list and tap Count.
    Note: To go to a specific item that you would want to modify, scan the bar code label for the item. The Par Location screen is displayed.
    Note: You can also scan location labels to select the par location.

    This information is displayed:

    QOO (Quantity on Order)
    Note: The QOO field shows only for companies that are configured to display this field

    If this is a vendor-replenished item, the quantity on order is displayed.

    If this is an inventory-replenished item, zero will display in the field.

    Avg Par Util (APU)

    The APU field shows only for companies that are configured to display this field.

    Sug Level (Suggested Level)

    The suggested level field shows only for companies that are configured to display this field.

    You can view the computation in Suggested par level formula.

    New Par Level

    The new par level field and icon shows only for companies that are configured for par level editing.

  5. Tap New Par Level. The Enter New Par Level screen is displayed.
  6. Tap OK to accept the new par level value or tap Cancel to close the screen. The value specified will be disregarded.
  7. Tap Next to modify the par level of the next item.
    Note: Tap List to view all counts and new par level values for the current par form.
    Note: You can also scan item or shelf labels to navigate through the list.
  8. Tap Done when you have finished the current par form. The New Par Level List screen is displayed.
    1. Tap Cancel to return to the previous screen.
    2. Tap OK to confirm the new par level values specified.

      The Ready to Count page displays this information:

      Blank Circle

      Indicates that no changes were made (par count and/or par level update) for all of the items in the par form.

      Half-filled Circle

      Indicates that changes were made (par count and/or par level update) for some of the items in the par form.

      Full Circle

      Indicates that changes were made (par count and/or par level update) for all of the items in the par form.

  9. Select the check box of the par forms you want to send to the main server and tap Send.
  10. When the system prompts you to send the par forms, tap Yes.

    The system shows a progress bar showing the synchronization with server.

    Note: If the print label check box in the Par Level Editing and Label Printing configuration screen is marked and a default label printer has been defined for the user/location/company, the system automatically prints the label of the items whose par level has been modified.

    If the print label check box is marked but no default label printer has been set for the user/location/company, user will be asked to select a label printer.

    If the print label check box is marked but no label printer was defined for the user/location/company, user must define a label printer. See Adding printers for more information.

    If the print label check box is not marked, label of the items whose par level has been modified will not be printed.

  11. When the system displays a message telling you that the par forms have been sent, tap OK.
  12. Tap Exit to leave the sub-module.
