Recording Kanban counts

Use this procedure to record Kanban count of items using the handheld terminal application. Before you use Kanban using the handheld application, you or your administrator must configure the location, items and bins in Configure Item Bins and Label Printing in the application. See "Configure Item Bins" in the Mobile Supply Chain Management Administration Guide for more information.

Note: When Item Lifecycle Management is enabled a blue alert button or icon will appear for items set to status of warning. Items set to warning will be allowed to be used in transaction. A red alert button or icon will appear for items set to status of hard error. Items set to hard error will not be allowed to be used in transactions. This is only available on Android.

From the Main Menu, tap Kanban. The Kanban Download Par Forms screen is displayed.
Select the company ID from the list and tap All Par forms button to view the par locations available for your company.

Note: Tap My Par Forms to view the par forms set up for you by your administrator.
Select the check boxes next to the par locations you want to count and tap Download. The Ready to Count screen is displayed.

Note: You can also scan location labels to select the par locations you wish to count.
Select the par location row you want to count in the list and tap Count. The Par Location screen is displayed.
In the List tab, scan or specify the item. After the item is specified, select the bin that you want to be replenished and click OK.

Click Exit to close the Search Item screen.

Note: The information icon is displayed if the item has an expiration date.
In the Count tab, you can view the item details such as item, item description, shelf, bin, count, Manufacturing Number, GTIN and the expiration date.
Press the Next button to proceed to the next item on the list or the Previous button to go back to the previous item on the list.

Note: A warning message is displayed if par level was updated in the FSM or Infor Lawson Inventory Control or in the handheld device during par count and the quantity per bin is not updated in Configure Item Bins in Par Counting Configuration.
Tap Done when you have finished counting in the current par location.
The Ready to count page is displayed.
Select the check boxes of the locations of the completed kanban counts you want to send to the main server and tap Send.
After the system prompts you to send the par locations, tap Yes..
The system shows a progress bar showing the synchronization with server.
When the system shows a message that the kanban count lists have been sent, tap OK.
If the count for an item is below the Re-order point, a warning message "The following items currently do not meet reorder point criteria. It will not be reordered." is displayed. Tap Close to dismiss the message.

Note: The request will not be sent for requisition until it has reached or is above the Re-order point for that item.
To continue counting from the remaining locations using the same steps, tap Count.
Tap Exit once done performing the kanban count.
