Configure Item Bins

  1. Select Par Counting in the Par and Cycle Counting menu.
  2. Select Configuration > Configure Item Bins.
    The Configure Item Bins page is displayed.
  3. Select the Company.
  4. Select the Location.
  5. Use these search fields to filter your results:
    Display
    Filters search results to items that has discrepancies on Kanban information or all records.
    Item lookup
    Filter results by item description or item code.
  6. Click Inquire.
  7. Select the Use Kanban check box to determine if the item will be used for Kanban Count (selected or checked) or Par Count (cleared or unchecked).
  8. Select the With Expiry Date check box to determine if the item has an expiry date and it will notify the user to check the expiry date when the bin is counted (selected or checked) or there is no need to check the expiry date (cleared or unchecked).
  9. Select the Manage Bin to specify the number of bins, quantity per bin and the Kanban UOM in the Item Bin Configuration pop-up screen.
  10. Perform these steps in the Item Bin Configuration screen:
    1. Select the Kanban UOM.

      Default is PAR UOM.

    2. Specify the Re-order point.
      Note: Re-order point should be equal or greater than minimum order.
    3. Specify the number of bins per item.

      Default is two bins.

      Note: When specifying the number of bins, ensure that the Par Level is equally divisible in whole numbers by the number of bins and the total bin quantity is equal to Par Level.
    4. Click Add to automatically create unique bins per item.
    5. Click Save to save the Kanban bins configuration.
    6. Click Close to discard changes.
  11. Perform these steps in the Configure Item Bins screen:
    1. Click Save. An inline confirmation message is displayed.
    2. Click Back to go back to the Configuration blank screen.
