To substitute damaged, missing, or usage limit reached items

On the Tray Assembly tray list page, click the gray
exception icon in the row of the item for which you want to make an
exception.
The Report Exception page displays.
- Specify the quantity of the item affected by the exception in the Quantity field.
- Specify comments describing the exception in the Comment field.

Click Damaged if the item is damaged, Missing if the item is missing or Usage Limit Reached if the item has reached its usage limit.
Note:
If an instrument has already been scanned, the only instrument-level exception that can be logged is either the Damaged or Usage Limit Reached exception.
The Assembly Exception - Damaged Item, Assembly Exception - Missing Item or Assembly Exception - Usage Limit Reached window appears.

Click Substitute.
Note:
Substituted instruments can be replaced by a different item. They can be replaced by instrument-tracked items or non-instrument-tracked items. If they are replaced by instrument-tracked items for that source location, instrument IDs are required to be scanned; if they are replaced by non-instrument-tracked items, instrument IDs are not required.
The Substitute Missing Item page displays.

Specify this information:
- Item Number

Specify the identification number for the item that you want to substitute for the damaged, missing, or usage limit reached item.
Note:If you do not know the item number, click Search.
- Quantity

Specify the quantity of the new item with which you want to substitute the damaged or missing item.
- Comment

Specify comments describing the substitution.

Click Substitute to substitute the damaged, missing, or usage limit reached item.
The Assembly Exception - Damaged Item, Assembly Exception - Missing Item or Assembly Exception - Usage Limit Reached pop-up window appears.
- Click OK to return to the Tray Assembly tray list page.
