Adding sterilization processes

Use this procedure to add a sterilization process.

A sterilization process groups together sterilization parameters and/or sterilization tests in sterilization stages and defines specific settings and/or expected results for each sterilization parameter or sterilization test.

To add sterilization processes

  1. Select SIM Configuration in the Surgical Instrument Management menu.
  2. Select Sterilization> Processes on the Configuration page.

    The Search Sterilization Processes page displays.

  3. Click New Sterilization Process.

    The Create New Sterilization Process page displays.

  4. Enter the process description in the text box.
  5. Select a sterilization type for the process.
  6. Select to Require Cycle Number on load, if it is cycle number is required.
  7. Select a stage and click Add Stage to add stage to process.
  8. To remove a stage, select a stage and click Delete.
    Note: 

    Deleting a stage is allowed if it was not used in any transaction.

  9. Click Add Parameter/Test to add parameters or tests for the stage added in previous step.
  10. Add another sterilization parameter/test, if needed.
  11. Click Copy Parameter/Test to copy parameters or tests from other stages for the stage added in previous step.
  12. To remove a parameter or test select one or more parameter or test and click Delete.
    Note: 

    Delete of a parameter or test is allowed if it was not used in any transaction.

  13. Add another sterilization stage, if needed.
  14. Specify this information.
    Expected Result

    Displays the planned conclusion of the sterilization process.

    Display at Load Setup

    The display field to select for the process.

    Comment

    Displays any available supplementary information for the process.

  15. Click Sort to initiate drag and drop actions that will change the sequence of a stage or stages within the process.
  16. Click Draft to create the sterilization process in draft mode. If process is saved as Draft, it will not be available for selection in Create Sterilization Load.
  17. Click Save.
  18. Click Discard to discard the changes made in the sterilization process.
