Transferring instruments, trays, and carts

Use this procedure to transfer instruments, case carts, batches, or assemblies to a location.

To transfer carts

  1. Log into the handheld application.
  2. Select SIM from the Mobile SCM main menu.
  3. Select Transfer from the Surgical Instrument Management main menu. The Enter current location page is displayed.
    Note: 

    You cannot transfer a cart to a sterilizer using the Transfer module.

  4. Specify this information:
    Company

    Select the company where you want to transfer the cart.

    Location

    Select the location where you want to transfer the cart.

  5. Tap Next. Select Sub-Location window is displayed.
  6. Select sub-location in the list or scan sub-location barcode
    Note: 

    Specify the bin name in the Sub-Location field. The bin name will be matched to the corresponding value in the list.

  7. Tap OK. The Transfer Header page is displayed.
  8. Specify this information:
    Patient ID

    Specify the Patient ID

    Comments

    Optionally, specify additional information about the Transfer.

  9. Tap Next. The Transfer Detail page is displayed.
  10. Specify an instrument ID, assembly ID, case cart ID, or batch ID in the Enter ID field.
    Note: 

    You can also scan Assembly or Batch bar codes. Scanning will automatically populate the ASID list.

  11. Press Enter to add the assembly to the list to be transferred.
  12. Continue entering assembly IDs that you want to transfer.

    If Tray Assembly is configured to display Sterilization Warning upon transfer, a warning message will prompt user if the ASID has not been sterilized. To display Sterilization Warning upon transfer, see "To modify sterilization settings" of the Configuring sterilization settings section.

  13. Tap Done. The Transfer Confirmation page is displayed.
  14. Tap OK to return to the Surgical Instrument Management main menu.
