Starting a workflow from an alert

When an alert is created by a monitor with workflow settings, a Resolve button is displayed. The button enables you to start a workflow to handle an alert.

To start a workflow from an alert:

  1. Click the alert item to open the details view.
  2. If this alert is not assigned to you, click Assign to me.
  3. Hover over the Resolve button to see which workflow will be started. Click Resolve.
    The alert is closed and removed from your list.
  4. Optionally, click Done to close the alert if no workflow is needed to resolve the alert.
    Note: If the configuration of the workflow to be started contains a structure, you will receive this message: Cannot start workflow <name>. This requires structures as input <name> and the alert is not removed from your list. Click Done to close this alert. Contact the system administrator to repair the workflow configuration.
