Alert and task delegation

Users of Infor Ming.le can define personal delegation rules for tasks and alerts when Out of Office functionality is available.

For example, you can set these delegation rules:

  • Define rules to delegate all messages, all alerts or all tasks to one delegate user.
  • Define specific delegation rules based on a string contained in the alert or task message to one or more users.

The delegation rules are applied when you turn your Out of Office on. You can also specify a time range for the Out of Office and start the delegation later or end at a specified time.

When a delegation rule applies, the user who is specified as delegate is added to the distribution list of the delegated messages. The delegate can now see, assign, and close these items from Infor Inbox.

When you turn your Out of Office off, the delegate user is removed from the distribution list of the messages that are still unassigned. The delegation rules no longer take effect. If there are messages that are assigned to the delegate user at the time you turn Out of Office off, these items remain assigned. The delegate can complete them or can return them back to you by un-assignment or direct assignment.

Note: There is a polling interval used to run delegation rules. There can be a delay between the moment you click Out of Office on or off and the actual time this action is performed. By default, this polling interval is one minute. The system administrator can configure a longer interval of time in the ION Desk configuration screen for the Pulse Engine.

The delegation rules are applied in the order they are defined. On each task or alert, only one rule can be applied.
