Using the Widget Catalog

The Widget Catalog displays all widgets that you have permission to view. It consists of these areas:

Area Description
Widget Catalog title bar The upper title bar. It contains a search icon and an icon for closing the catalog. If saved views exist, a drop-down list is displayed for selecting a saved view to apply.
Widget Catalog side bar The side bar contains filter options and a button for quick access to the home view. In the categories section, you can select to filter on a specific widget category or to show new and updated, or all widgets. From the application drop-down list, you can filter based on application dependency. The side bar also has an owner filter, a tags filter, and a type filter.
Widget Catalog start viewA view showing featured widgets, the most recently created or updated widgets, your most recently added widgets, and the most recently used widgets tags. The start view can always be reached by clicking the home button on the Widgets Catalog side bar. See Using the start view for more information.
Widget Catalog list view A list of widgets containing information about each widget. The list is displayed when any filter or search is applied. Standard and Published widgets are identified with a label. Scroll down to the bottom of the list to retrieve more widgets.

The active filters and search query are displayed below the Widget Catalog list header, in a second header above the list. The header also contains a related tags section, which can be displayed by clicking Related Tags. The related tags section displays all tags used in the retrieved widgets that are not included in the applied filters. Click a related tag to add it to the applied filters.

Widget Catalog list header The list header contains a drop-down list for sorting and a button to save the current view.
Widget Detail panel Click the icon or title of a widget to display detailed information about the widget.

If the widget has been edited, the name of the user who made the change and the date of the change are included.

Use one of these methods to open the Widget Catalog:

  • Click the page menu icon (…) on the page title bar and click Widget Catalog.
  • In Editing Page Layout (see Editing a page), click Add Widget.
Note: To open the Widget Catalog for Banner widgets, click Add Banner Widget in the "Editing page layout."
Note: The Widget Catalog menu is in the page menu only if you are authorized to edit the currently selected page.
Note: If the page is a published page and you are authorized to change it, click Edit published page from the page menu to enable the Widget Catalog option.
