Understanding published pages

When you publish a private page to the Page Catalog, the page becomes a published page. A published page is visible in the Page Catalog for all users unless you add permissions to the page. Users can add a published page to their pages. When a published page is republished, all users who have that page can see the updated page the next time they start Infor Ming.le. A user can also manually refresh a page to see the updates.

In most cases, you cannot make changes to pages published by other users. You can, however, duplicate a published page from the Page Catalog to create a private page that you can edit. After you duplicate a published page, you no longer see any updates to the published page.

A published page cannot be edited in the same way as a private page. You must republish the page by using the Publishing Page mode. See Editing a published page.

If you are using published widgets on a page, be aware that some users may not be allowed to view a specific published widget. In this case, the widget is not available and is displayed as deactivated on the page. A published widget may also have been updated or deleted after you publish your page. For full control over your published page, use only standard widgets, widgets that you have published yourself, or duplicated published widgets. When duplicating a published widget, you get a local copy of the published widget. Updates to the published widget are no longer visible.

A benefit to using a published widget on many pages is that you republish only one widget instead of republishing several pages when you change the widget configuration.

Note: You may need to refresh the page or restart Infor Ming.le to see new or updated pages.
