Adding a dynamic page

To add a dynamic page:

  1. Under Homepages Administration, expand Pages, and click Dynamic Pages.
  2. Click Add Page.
  3. On the Page Settings dialog box, enter a title, description, and page color. Indicate whether announcements are displayed below the page header and whether the announcements are animated. You can add translations for the title and description.
  4. Click Save. The Editing mode for the dynamic page is displayed.
In the Page Settings section, the initial configuration, available to all users, is displayed. You can add multiple configurations to the dynamic page and define alternate titles, descriptions, page colors, and translations of the title and description. Each configuration applies to a subset of security roles.
In the Banner Area and Main Area sections, you define the page content and specify which users have access to the content.
  5. To add a configuration, expand the Page Settings section, click Add Configuration, and enter a title, description, and page color. Indicate whether announcements are displayed below the page header and whether the announcements are animated. You can add translations for the title and description.
  6. Click Select security policy and move to the Selected box one or more security policies that apply to the configuration. You can also click Add New Policy to define a policy specific to the configuration.
  7. Click Save to save the security policies.
  8. Click Save to save the configuration.
  9. Complete the steps above to add more configurations, as needed, to the dynamic page.
Each configuration is assigned a priority, with the most recently added configuration receiving the highest priority. When a user belongs to more than one security policy, the priority of the configuration determines what configuration is displayed for the user.
  10. To change the priority of the configuration, use the repositioning icon to the left of the priority assigned to the configuration to drag and drop the configuration to the appropriate location. The initial configuration, available to all users, always has the lowest priority.
  11. To add content to the dynamic page, expand the Banner Area or Main Area section.
  12. From the Quick add section, drag and drop to the appropriate destination areas the required components for the page:
    • Image
    • Information
    • Link List
    • Shortcuts
    • Web
    • Widget
Alternatively, you can click Add Component to display a dialog box from which you can select components to add to the destination area.
  13. For each component, click the settings icon to display the Edit Settings dialog box. Specify a name and translations for the component and assign the component an icon. You can customize the sizing and background for the selected icon. Click Save.
By default, each component is visible to all users. Click All users to limit the visibility by security role.
If you add multiple components to the destination area, you can change the order of the components by dragging and dropping the repositioning icon to the left of the component title to the appropriate position.
  14. For each component, add information as required.
By default, the information is visible to all users. Click All users to limit the visibility by security role.
If you add multiple entries to the component, you can change the order of the entries by dragging and dropping the repositioning icon to the left of the entry title to the appropriate position.
For all component types except Information components, you can copy or cut and paste one or more items within the component or from one component to another, provided the source and destination components are the same component type. Selected items must have permissions and translation settings that match the settings of the target component.
To select multiple items, use CTRL + click (Windows) or CMD + click (Mac). An Actions button is displayed with Copy, Cut, and Delete options, showing the number of selected items. After you select items, a Paste option is displayed in components where you can add the items.
  15. At any time during setup of the dynamic page in Edit mode, click Preview on the toolbar to preview the configured dynamic page. Click Preview As to preview the configured dynamic page by security role.
  16. When setup is completed, click Exit on the toolbar to close Edit mode.
  17. Select the draft dynamic page from the list to display the Action toolbar.
  18. Click Publish to add the dynamic page to the Page Catalog.
