Creating an extension bundle for deployment

Note: Only users with MGCoreTrans and MGDeveloper license modules can access the Extension Bundles form.

As an alternative to using the Deployment form to create the Extension Bundle, developers may use the Extension Bundles form to create the extension bundle. Use the Configure Extension Bundle form to select an Object Type, filter with wildcards (*) on the object name, search, select some or all of the objects returned, choose an existing Extension Bundle, and click the Add to Bundle button to add objects to the bundle. The configured bundle may then be generated and downloaded as a zip file on the Extension Bundles form.

  1. Open the Extension Bundles form and initiate a new record.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify the extension bundle name.
    Description
    Optionally, provide a description.
    Namespace
Optionally, select a namespace from the list, to which the extension bundle is to be included.

Including a package to a namespace indicates that the package is a global package, which can be deployed to multiple customers.

Note: The list contains all namespaces, imported by the Tenant Management Service (TMS), from the CloudSuite Portal (CSP). To view all existing namespaces, open the CSP Namespaces form. Only users with MGCoreTrans and MGDeveloper license modules can access the CSP Namespaces form.
    Version
Optionally, specify the version of the extension bundle.
    Tags
Optionally, click Set Tags and select the applicable tag from the list. You can select multiple tags and use them to find specific extension packages.
  3. Click Save.
To add objects to the extension bundle, use the Deployment form. You can add objects to extension bundles using Access As and Object Prefix values or using forms, selected items, and referenced items. After you add objects to an extension bundle, you can use the Extension Bundles form to generate and download the deployable zip file of the extension bundle. To deploy it in the target environment, use the Deployment form.
