Adding objects to extension bundles using the Export DataViews option

You can add DataViews to extension bundles. Alternatively, you can also create a new extension bundle. See Creating an extension bundle for deployment.

Note:

The DataViews are not included when the Export using AccessAs and Object Prefix option is used. When exporting DataViews from the Deployment form, the form will reference the output to how the AppMetadata will export the DataViews.
As an alternative to using the Deployments form to create the Extension Bundle, see the Configure Extension Bundle form. This form allows you to select an Object Type, filter with wildcards (*) on the object name, search, select some or all of the objects returned, choose an existing Extension Bundle, and then click the Add to Bundle button to add more objects to the bundle.

Open the Deployment form.
Select the Export DataViews option.
In the Available DataViews section, specify this information:

Type

Select the type of DataView.

Filter

To filter the list of available DataViews, specify a keyword.
You can use the exact name of a DataView, or a partial text string as a filter keyword.

Scope

Select the scope type.
The scope field is enabled when the selected scope type is DataView Layouts or DataView Actions.
To display the filtered results in the bottom panel of the Available DataViews section, click Refresh.
From the filtered results, select the forms that you want to deploy.
The selected forms are automatically added to the Selected DataViews section.
You can also perform these actions:
- To clear the list of DataViews in the Selected DataViews section, click Reset.
- To select all the DataViews in the filtered results, click Select All.
- To remove all the selected DataViews, from the current filtered results, in the Selected Forms section, click Deselect All.
Optionally, in the Selected DataViews section, perform any of these actions:
- To remove the DataViews that are not needed, select the DataViews and then click Remove selected.
- To save the list of the selected DataViews into an XML file, click Save.
- To load a list of selected DataViews from a previously saved XML file, click Load.
In the Extension Bundle Name field, select an extension bundle.

Note: The list contains all existing extension bundles created using the Extension Bundles form. See Creating an extension bundle for deployment.
To add the objects, from the selected forms, to the extension bundle, click Add To Bundle.
To verify that the objects from the selected forms are added to the extension bundle, perform these actions:
- Click View Log, and examine the output log for the operation.
- Click View Bundle, and examine the list of objects in the extension bundle.
