- In the Web Designer (web client) or Design Mode (Windows client), launch the Form Wizard.
- In the first page of the wizard, select the Create new form option, and then click Next.
- In the next page, complete the following required fields:

Perform one of these actions:

Form Type

From the drop-down list, select .

Data Source

From the drop-down list, select an IDO to return the primary collection.
- Optionally, specify a default Device Type, a Query Form, and any comments.
Comments are stored with the form definition and do not appear anywhere on the actual form.
- Click Next.
- In the next page of the wizard (Select Properties), specify the properties of the IDO that are to be used with components in the new form.
- Click Next.
- In the next page of the wizard (Properties), you can specify:
- The order in which the properties are listed, which determines the order in which they display on the form initially
- The captions for properties/components
- Any containment
- What component class, if any, is to be applied to each property/component

- If one of the properties is a subcollection property, the wizard prompts you to identify the subcollection information.
- Click Next.
The wizard displays the Select Properties page again.
- Specify the properties of the subcollection IDO that are to be used and displayed in the subcollection grid.
- Click Next.
The wizard displays the Properties page again.
- Specify the order, the captions, and any other desired subcollection information for each property.
- Click Next.
- Optionally, to create a template from the new form, select the Save Template option.
- Click Finish.
The
Form Wizard creates the form, populates it with a number of default navigational and operational buttons, and opens a rough version of the form in the designer.
From there, you can further modify the form to meet your needs.
