Adding a SoHo user component to a form

Note: 
  • This procedure applies only to the Web Designer and not to the Windows client Design Mode.
  • If you use a source control system, make sure you have the form checked out before you perform this procedure.
  1. Launch the Web Designer.
  2. In the Web Designer window, open the form you that want to modify.
  3. In the Toolbox, select the SoHo user component that you want to add.
  4. Perform one of these actions:
    • To display the user component at its default size, single-click the form.
    • To draw the user component at the size you want, click-and-drag the user component where you want it to display.
    Note:  Regardless of the action you perform, the point where you click becomes the upper left corner of the user component.
  5. From the Component properties sheet, select Miscellaneous > Specific Attributes.
  6. In the User Component Initialization String field, specify a string that is to be passed to the user component when it is created.
    Note: To set up the string, use the SoHo user component's Expression Editor that is accessible using the ellipses (•••) button.
  7. Save your changes to the form.
  8. Close the Web Designer window.
  9. In the regular web client window, open the form and verify that your changes were made.
    Note: You might need to unload global form objects to see the changes.
