Edit Contained Components dialog box
Use this dialog box in Design Mode to add, configure, and delete components within a container component. This dialog box is accessed by clicking the
button in the upper left corner of these container components while in Design Mode:- Notebooks
- Grids
- Vertical Grids
For FlexLayout components, this dialog box is accessed by clicking the Edit FlexLayout Attributes dialog box.

- The left side contains:
- The Items column, which displays the list of the contained
components currently defined for the container.
For example, if this dialog box is accessed from a grid, the list displays, in order, all the columns currently defined for the grid.
For FlexLayout components, items are grouped by region.
- The Sequence column, which
displays the sequence number of the contained components.
For FlexLayout components, the sequence is ordered inside the contained component's respective region.
- These controls at
the bottom:
Control Description/Comments button Deletes the selected component from the list button Moves the selected component up in the list button Moves the selected component down in the list Copy/Paste button Copies the selected component to a selected container This button opens the Select Container for Pasted Component dialog box, which allows you to specify where and how the copied component is to be pasted.
Container component display (Read-only) Displays the name of the container to which the contained components are assigned If there are multiple containers, you can select the one you want from the list.
button Adds a contained component to the list
- The Items column, which displays the list of the contained
components currently defined for the container.
- The right side has two tabs:
- Properties displays a properties sheet for the selected contained component.
- Events displays an events sheet for the selected contained component.
These sheets are identical to their counterparts in the Design Mode property sheet displays in Windows client. Once the contained component exists, you can configure it in either place and the results are the same.
