Changing theme colors in the Windows client

In the Windows client, you can use the Theme Editor form to set the colors for fonts, backgrounds, and required field indicators. The procedure to change colors is the same for every color specification.

Note: Before you modify a theme, ensure that the theme is locked or checked out on your user account.
  1. Open the Theme Editor.
You can open the Theme Editor in either of two ways:
    • In Runtime Mode: From the View menu, select User Preferences. Select the Runtime Layout tab, and then select a theme to edit. Click Edit, and use the Theme Editor to make your changes.
Note: This option is disabled for those with Vendor Developer editing permissions.
    • In Design Mode: From the Edit menu, select Theme. This launches the Theme Editor, which you can then use to edit or create your theme.
  2. In the tree pane, select the UI element that you want to edit.
  3. For components or levels where you can change the color, click the drop-down arrow in the field.
  4. The Theme Editor displays a color picker dialog box.
  5. Select one of these options:
    • None
    • Solid Color
    • Gradient
Note: The Gradient option is not always available. If you select Gradient, there are additional controls at the bottom of the window that control the appearance of the gradient.
  6. Change the R, G, B, and A controls as desired.

These are standard RGBA values. You can set the numeric value, use sliders, or click in the color box to get the color you want.

  7. Close the window.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Done.
