Scope

The system identifies versions of a form by a combination of form name, scope type, and scope name.

Scope type specifies whether a customized form is to be used by a single user (User scope type), a set of users (Group scope type), or by all users (Site Default scope type). Scope type is qualified with a scope name. User scope is qualified with a user name. Group scope is qualified with the name of an administrative group defined in the Groups form.

Developers with Site Developer editing permissions specify scope type and scope name when they customize forms. Windows client sets scope type and scope name automatically when users with lower-level editing permission customize forms.

A default form supplied by an application vendor has Vendor scope type.
