Adding a theme class in the Windows client

A class is a reusable set of attributes that can be associated with a property, component, or theme element. You can use the Theme Editor to create and add classes as desired to facilitate reuse of these sets of attributes.

Any theme classes you create become available for use with forms and components in Design Mode.

The Add Class button is enabled only if Form or a specific form component type is selected.

Note: Before you modify a theme, ensure that the theme is locked or checked out on your user account.

To create and add a theme class in the Windows client:

  1. Open the Theme Editor.
  2. Create a new theme or select the theme that you want to edit.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Select Form or a specific form component type.
  5. Click the Add Class button.

The Theme Editor creates a class entry with a temporary name as a subordinate entry in the tree view. The newly created class originally acquires the attributes from the form or form component type to which it is subordinate.

  6. Specify the name for the new class and press Enter.
  7. Specify the theme class attributes.

The changes will be saved with the class and distributed to any element that uses this theme class.

  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Done.
