Form categories and form wizards

The Form Wizard Categories form provides the capability to create form wizards in a number of different categories. The tables in this topic list and describe first the categories of form wizards andn then the associated form wizards.
Note: All of these form wizards can be designated as Runtime Builder forms, which means that they can be used in Runtime Mode to create forms without having to go into the Web Designer in the web client or Design Mode in the Windows client.
Category Description and associated wizards
Classic These form wizards allow you to create forms of the basic types that have long been in Mongoose-based applications:
  • MultiView
  • Query
  • Detail Only
  • Grid Only
  • Build from Scratch
  • Tile
  • Report
External Data Source This category currently represents a single wizard, the Data Lake IDO Wizard.
Flex This category currently represents a single wizard, the Basic Flex form type.
Form Builder Form Builder forms are created from predesigned templates and layouts. Once the form is created, you can modify it as needed.

This category currently hosts these form wizards:

  • Full Form: Forms developed with this wizard option are responsive and might or might not include a grid component for navigation purposes.
  • Widget: This form type is designed, usually, to be smaller and to function within an Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le® environment. Widgets are typically simple, designed with a single purpose in mind.
New Data This category currently hosts these form wizards:
  • Maintenance: This form wizard is similar to the traditional Data Maintenance Wizard. It allows you to create IDOs, their tables, and optionally, a form, all in a single procedure.
  • XML to IDO: This form wizard also creates forms with IDOs and tables, typically using an imported Business Object Document (BOD).
REST This category currently hosts a single form wizard, the REST API Wizard. This wizard allows you to create strongly-typed APIs with accompanying Swagger documentation.
